Reverse V III Cups

Reverse III Cups

Reverse VI The Lovers

What to know about this point of life?
What stands out to you in the above cards? For me it is that all of them are reveresed. Even though my logical mind knows that reversed cards are either trying to protect you or are simply less positive than the upright card, it still fills me with a sense of dread. What about you? Do you find reverse cards a tad bit quesy? Let’s dive in and look at the individual card meanings.
R VIII Cups

Here we see the back of a figure walking away from eight upright cups. The figure, wearing red, appears to be walking with a stick, indicating a long journey. This card often means you are emotionally stuck somewhere in life or you are clinging onto something in the past that you were familiar with.
R III Cups

In the reverse III of Cups we see three figures, all holding their cups up, standing in a tight circle around each other. In the upright position, this card indicates friendships, celebration, and unity. However in the reverse position, this card could be a feeling of lonliness or of being left out of the group. Haven’t we all experienced a time of lonliness in our life? This card can help validate your experience of lonliness while also giving you hope that your community/tribe is out there waiting for you.
R VI The Lovers

Whenever I see VI The Lovers card, I think of harmony and duality. Often this is reference to relationships, but can also be in reference to inner harmony within our masculine and femine sides. Reversed, this card may be trying to highlight instability or imbalance within your life. It could be relationships, friendships, or within yourself. When paired with the other 2 cards, for me this is an indication to look again at my friend groups.
Closing Thoughts
What to know today turned into a very clear message of looking at my friend group. This spread says to me that I am holding onto a past version of the group, unable to let go of that old story. The feeling of being left out of the group and their activities and merriment are validated by the III Cups card. Which helps me to see that this group of friends I have clung to, while remain wonderful people, are no longer a good fit for where I am at in life. The last card asks me to further examine these relationships along with releasing the self doubt and indecision of moving forward. This was an unexpected card reveal but one that I ended up journaling about extensively. What about you? What resonated with you?
