Obstacles

In this spread, I ask the question: What obstacles am I currently facing?

I The Magician

II High Priestess R

IV Pentacles

Biggest Personal Obstacles Revealed

In this 3 card spread, I am looking at the biggest obstacles I am currently facing. What I resonated with these 3 cards is: inner doubt, lack of listening to inner intuition, and controlling behaviors. Let’s take a deeper look!

I The Magician

This is a Major Arcana card. We see a magician holding a white double ended candle while pointing to the ground. It is often said “what is above, so is below”, a phrase commonly indicating that what you do in the physical realm will be reflected in the spiritual realm.

We see the infinity loop and a snake eating itself as a belt.  These two signs indicate the all knowing inner wisdom we each have, along with the circle of life and death. All four minor arcan elements are present within reach on a table. The magician has every thing he needs to create his own journey.  Lucious greenery is above and below the magician, also signifying the creation of beauty and life.  This card is the beginning of the hero’s journey. It’s up to him to have full faith in himself and his abilities. In terms of obstacles, he will need to tap into his full potential and leave inner doubt behind as everything he needs, he has.

II The High Priestess Reversed

II High Priestess is a Major Arcana card as well. In this spread it is reversed. We see two large pillars, one gray with the letter J for ‘Jachin’ and one black with the letter B for ‘Boaz’. These pillars are often identified as pillars of truth and the balance between conscious and unconscious mind.

We see light blue gown flowing with a crescent moon at her feet. She sits on a throne of pomegranetes and behind her is water.

IV Pentacles

IV Pentacles is the last card of this spread. Here we see a man standing on two pentacles, holding one with both arms, and one sitting on his crown. He is seen outside of town, away from his community while hoarding his wealth. This card often means controlling behaviors or possessiveness. As the central question was in regards in obstacles, I resonate the most with possessiveness in this season of my life. Pentacles can mean money, but also could mean holding back one’s true self from their community. Keeping everything to themselves.

Closing Thoughts

I asked the tarot cards about current life challenges I was facing. I used this spread not to identify the challenges, but to provide insights into the challenges that I knew I was facing. This spread helped me further identify that I currently have all the tools to create my own life, that I am not trusting my inner intuition, and that I am keeping my gifts tucked away from community and not sharing them. Using this knowledge, I feel confirmed in releasing my doubts and trusting myself more in social situations.
